Holistic Therapy

WELCOME

Welcome to my website. My name is Sebastian Earl and I am a licensed psychotherapist (license # MFT 40124). I work with individuals, couples and families. I aim to provide an opportunity for people to grow and heal, in a safe, supportive, non-judgmental and nurturing environment.

I work primarily around self-acceptance, learning how to achieve intimacy and breaking free of conditioning. My experience is that this work helps to heal trauma/ PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), depression, low self-esteem, addictions (alcohol/drugs/sex) and anxiety. I do this work with individuals, couples, families and adolescents. My approach is holistic, meaning that I work with the mind, body and spirit.

I also welcome those who simply want the added flexibility good therapy can achieve, enabling them to live fuller, richer, happier lives.

I also work with groups, inviting those of my individual clients who are open to the work to partake in group work. I find that working individually and in a group is exponential, helping the healing and consciousness growth to unfold much more deeply and powerfully. I also focus on the relationship between therapist and client, helping the client to discover their true Selves and let go of their conditioning.

I am slow and gentle with those who desire time to unfold, but I am also prepared to work powerfully and directly with those who feel ready to delve deep.

For me no one approach is ever the right approach in all situations. We are individuals and although we share many commonalities, each of us needs to be treated according to our uniqueness. I aim to fit my approach to your needs, facilitating the unfolding of your unique Self.

There are many, many approaches to therapy, and many people want and need different things. My focus in to help my clients to discover their true Selves: To explain more what this means: We are all conditioned, by our parents, our schools, our families, our religions, our cultures, our societies, that certain parts of who we are are acceptable and other parts are not. My aim is to help the client to recognize the ways they are conditioned, and to feel that they have choice to step out of the conditioning, or not....what is crucial for me is not whether we decide to break free of the conditioning but that we can choose.

Believe me, most of us think we are choosing our lives, but we are way, way more conditioned than we realize. And this conditioning can make us miserable, as it gets between who we truly are and who we think we should be.

Lastly, i work a lot on helping people increase their capacity for intimacy. Intimacy is defined in psychology as the free and open expression of feelings between people. Once again, most people are terrified to truly reveal who they are, because we have been given so many messages telling us that we are not who those around us want us to be. Consequently most of us have relationships that are based on two people revealing to each other who they think the other wants to see, rather then who each really is.

When we can feel safe and courageous enough to really engage with others from the truth and authenticity of who we are, then an aliveness, a joy, a bliss and often a deep healing comes into the connection. I aim to help facilitate my clients to achieve this kind of intimacy with themselves and in relationship to others in their lives.
